Cow Dog
A common sight up and down Main Street in Ennis are the pickups from the ranches with cow dogs waiting for their owners to return. This painting captures the lively nature of one of these dogs, with the expressive face beautifully rendered.
The dog is back lit, creating a halo of shining fur. All of the subleties of the color transitions of the tricolor fur add to the richness of this painting. You can almost reach out and pet this happy dog.
